This has been a crazy fall. And it will just keep on being crazy until at least Election Day. We are all doing well and spending time together, but there is just not as much time available for blogging as there used to be!
Mainly, we have been preparing for the new carpet to come in, hopefully next week sometime, and doing a lot of painting. Well, Ray has been doing a lot of painting. I’ve been working. A lot.
But we also get great doses of Lola time.
She has become such a little ham lately. She likes to make you laugh and loves to smile.
Her new favorite activity is to “drive” Mommy’s car.
And ride the horseys at the mall.
She continues to be Miss Independent and wants to do everything herself – get dressed, change her diaper, make coffee (seriously), set the table, do laundry and feed the cat.
She loves to sit and read books with her parents and is getting to be quite the snuggler.
Dora is still her favorite on TV, but if we’re watching YouTube, it is all about Elmo.
She loves to run and jump and yell and give kisses and hugs.
She also is smart! We basically shop at two places lately: Walmart for food and household stuff and Home Depot for paint. So when we tell her we are going to the store, she always asks, “Fishy store or car store?” Because at Walmart, she can see the fish. And if we go to Home Depot, they have that car cart thing where the kids can sit and play with fake steering wheels. It’s pretty funny. What is not funny is when someone else is using the car cart and Lola has a mini meltdown. But it happens.
Her favorite toys right now are not toys as much as puzzles and blocks. And, of course, her tricycle and all of her balls.
She hates temporary tattoos and silly string. As in despises them. As in major temper tantrums.
She is growing up. I look at her and can’t believe that just last year we were amazed that she was walking so well and now she is running around the housing and climbing on the furniture. Not to mention jumping off the furniture.
We have entire conversations now. And I get real hugs and she tells me, “I love you Mommy.”
